Vegan Travel in Thailand: A Personal Highlight
On my last visit to Thailand, I met Natthaya Chansiri in the heart of Bangkok city centre, where she was running a busy vegan outreach stall. It was a Saturday afternoon, and despite the heat and crowds, she was there handing out leaflets, speaking with passersby, and sharing the vegan message with quiet determination. I later learned she does this every weekend—completely voluntarily.

Natthaya is the founder of Go Vegan Thailand, and one of the most active voices in the country’s vegan movement. What really stood out to me is how much of her work is driven by purpose rather than profit. The website she’s built is full of practical resources for vegan travellers—restaurant guides, cultural tips, market insights, and accommodation suggestions—all freely available. Even the merchandise she sells helps fund vegan campaigns across Thailand.
If you’re planning a trip or just curious about how the vegan scene is growing there, I’d really recommend checking out her site. The travel guides in particular are a great starting point.
