Vegan Cheesemaking

Does anyone have any tips on making vegan cheese? I looked up a few recipes, and I am wondering if anyone has tried cheesemaking here, and what there experience with it was.

There isn't really a good selection of vegan replacement products where I live, so the more stuff we can make at home, the better.
 
I don't have any tips yet, but I, too, would like to venture into this. I like Daiya, but it's dang expensive. I'm looking for cheaper, good-tasting alternatives.
 
It's not a real dairy cheese but its a baked cashew cheese.It's made with cashews.I think she said you can bake it then chill it.Then you can serve it like regular hard cold cheese.Cashews can taste like cheese when blended in a processor and the right spices are added.

ETA:Also in the comment section on the recipe page at the bottom it says it's okay to eat it raw.No baking required.:)
