The Sourcing of Chocolate - The Cacao Industry

No, don't take away my chocolate. :lala:

All kidding aside, I'm surprised how many companies make vegan chocolates.
I was too but they're not very mainstream/available, at least not here. I think more people would jump on the bandwagon if it were easier to obtain vegan options.

I'm not surprised, there are tons of small companies I've never heard of, and the only ones one the first list I recognized was Endangered Species--and only the organic dark? I'm guessing they including the milk chocolate as unethical, and not just cocoa?
I do buy Aldi Moser Ross which is on their "working on the issue in various ways". Sometimes Aldi features fair trade ethically sourced chocolate, which is labeled as such, but it's not a regular option. I do see it becoming one. They used to have fair trade, rainforest grown coffee as just a sometimes product-it's now a regular and gets high ratings. That's my regular one now.
I will again send a message to Aldi. We can't ever take for granted our recommendations don't help force change!

I got a screenshot of the App Store app:

It did get a five-star rating from users, which isn't that common for App Store apps because users can be really picky, so that's something. I installed the app to see what it looks like, and it's nice, except they don't go into detail on why something is recommended or not recommended. And if the list is updated monthly, why was the last app update last September?
