US The Everything Thanksgiving Thread

I made nothing for myself. I ate an impossible chicken patty and cranberry sauce. Theresa's also bean salsa/chips and roasted potatoes. I didn't even have dessert. I just wasn't feeling it this year.

I did have a loaf of bread proofing all day so when I got home I baked that. Had it warm with some plant based butter.

Bread and spread sounds nice.

You can make up for it at Christmas. I must say that my kinda TG dinner was delicious. I also love having leftovers and make lots of other dishes during the week.

It's fine. I'm fortunate that all our holidays/gatherings are enjoyable. It's only fair that I get one thrown in here or there that isn't postcard perfect lol. We had a lot going on the entire week. I was busy with the kittens(so worth giving up a prepared meal for) and the sibling rivalry "thing" that amazingly ended up fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The worst part was, my son-in-law was playing with Vischer and they both went to grab something at the exact same time. Vischer ended up getting son-in-law's finger and he ended up at the emergency room. It bled for a really long time but no stitches needed. Apparently they don't stitch dog bite wounds, something to do about bacteria getting trapped inside.Just a good cleaning and some antibiotics. And it happened toward the end of the day so it didn't really ruin anything.

@KLS52, I am sorry your day wasn’t stellar. I get it on not feeling it some years. Last year was like that for me. I hope Christmas rocks for you!

@shyvas, for some reason, I didn’t take any food pics, which is unusual, lol. I did have a lovely meal and a great day. I will take a pic when I make a plate of leftovers. 😁

I didn't really do anything for Thanksgiving this year, but it was due to lack of preparation on my part. My relatives weren't in the area or were doing something else they had already planned. What I ate that day wasn't particularly festive, but it was tasty and healthy. Note to self: experiment with some tasty recipes soon, and make one of the winners next year!

I didn't take a picture at my sister's but today I fixed my own Thanksgiving feast! It is Gardein Turkey Cutlets which come with gravy. I like the Gardein Turkey roast but that thing was $15! The veggies are leftover stir fry which isn't exactly traditional but I didn't want to open another package. I made fresh cranberry sauce.
