Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

Most of the US are in lockdown, but they are in Level 3 rather than Level 4 . I think there are a few states which are at what we would call Level 2.

What is making me angry here in the US, is the stupid protesters! These dumb asses are going to make things get worse instead of better with their large gatherings with no social distancing! And Jacksonville beaches were crowded with more idiots as well! And last night on my walk around my neighborhood, I noticed a bunch of cars pulling up to one residence on the other side of the street. Obviously they were having a big party! WTF is wrong with people?

They'll all meet again in ICU.

A 5-year-old girl in Detroit died from the coronavirus on Sunday after developing a rare form of meningitis and brain swelling, Detroit News reports.

Skylar Herbert was first diagnosed with the coronavirus last month. Her parents initially took her to the pediatrician, and she was diagnosed with strep throat and sent home with medications. But Skylar had a terrible headache that wouldn’t go away, so her family took her to the emergency room. That’s when she tested positive for the coronavirus.

She was released from the hospital, but her family returned a short time later after Skylar’s dad began showing symptoms of the coronavirus. Both of her parents are first responders—her dad is a firefighter, and her mom is a police officer.

:) It's videos of people protesting tyranny that give me the warm fuzzies that not all Americans are blind sheep and there may be hope that the draconian measures will not only be stopped, but perhaps even reversed and not increased. Sort of made me proud to be an American again.

(Regionally) unrelated (UK) but related (rant remix) video taken down by dumbtube and re-uploaded where it won't be:

Sorry, I didn't create the title, lol.

I found this on the internet too.

It's a sad story right? You should feel sad, *engage your emotion before questioning* and hold a righteous indignation for anyone who *does* question. This is how they get you to commit to ideas so you won't question them. With emotions. Like fear, and pity.

But wait...

Isn't mass corporate media wonderful?

There was a protest in my state today, but it was a caravan of cars that honked their horns, so at least they practiced social distancing! Our governor has been steadfast about not getting back to business too soon, but I fear the pressure he's getting from some people will force his hand. He's talking about a staggered reopening, but all that will do is encourage people from areas that are still shut down to flock to the opened bars and other businesses and spread the virus further.

I really enjoy my life of enlightenment. I haven't had the flu in at least a decade, most of that time I worked with the public, seeing often 100's of persons in a day, and all that time I never got a vaccine. I've only been a vegan for around 2.5 years, but prior to that I avoided all pork, shellfish and nearly all dairy.

Since the "outbreak" I've hardly washed my hands (cept when it makes sense to, when they are dirty), I don't wipe down any packages I buy, or any produce I might purchase, I never wear gloves (except to discard of a dead animal my cat has gifted to me), I certainly never wear a mask, I don't use hand sanitizer and I wouldn't be too concerned if someone coughed or sneezed on me.

I also don't watch corporate news.

Life in this respect is good. It's only when I go out and have to deal with the hordes of crazy people do I get annoyed.

Years ago I read an alternative medicine book that put forth the idea that viruses are "repair proteins", or something of that nature. They originate from within the body's own cells to help in the clean up work. Diet, stress, emotional factors can all play a role in an eventual bodily clean up that occurs and the immune system does not pass on it's "germs" to other people.

However, vaccines can and do. There are all sorts of horrible crap they put in them, including bits of animal DNA, human fetus parts and a range of nasty stuff. Direct - into your blood. You can be sure you are getting exactly what they want you to have by getting one. But remember folks, those vaccines are there to protect you, no one's making any money off them or anything.

Now I've recently learned that emf/radiation can cause symptoms, especially the millimeter kind - and that's being rolled out everywhere. I guess my 10+ year run is now at risk. It was nice while it lasted.

Meanwhile, one can't compete with constant fear porn. Does it matter 1.5 million a year die from TB? Nope, 80k in 4 months is what really matters, because the media said so, and we all might die. I mean 240k or something if it's a whole year. 1.5 million has nothing on 240k, so keep washing those hands and playing the role that was set out for you.

Nekodaiden, Covid 19 is really a serious disease. If you did that in New Zealand where there is an enforced lockdown, you will get fined because you could spread corona. If everyone did that, thousands of people could die from corona.

Haven't you heard? He's enlightened! (Your arguments are too obscurant to penetrate through his glowing nimbus, so don't bother).😁 Seriously speaking, in our country, there are a few places where a LD is enforced either: e.g. Moscow (the capital), where you need to get a digital ID(!) to be able to go to work, if you are working, and to get to a nearest grocer (the police departments that control your movements can see whether you are going to a grocer, or you are from a remote district and you're just traipsing around, putting others at risk). A few thousand people have been fined in Moscow because they were traipsing around. I live in the suburb of Saint-Petersburg city (the second largest city), and i heard that SPb may end up getting these digital IDs very soon as well. We still are more relaxed in my hometown, a no one is aware how much infected it (the town) has. But the rumours say that it's about 100 people at least. Authorities keep it in secret, because they don't want to close Izhora-Uralmash machinery plant (one of the main machinery plants in the country). There are about 300000 people in town (including its own small suburbs), but these 100 infected people may be anywhere, so everyone is freaking out. On Saturday, when i was having a walk and passing by a house in the neighbourhood community, i saw 2 ambulances at one house simultaneously. (We have big block houses over here, but you know, it's still very suspicious: these ambulances were standing at two entrances, that are next to each other). I was scared, and it was a very narrow road, so i had to make a "loop" in order to avoid approaching them.

I am replying to a 15 year old. O k. Don't take that as an insult, everyone is young at some stage. However, some people remain young in mind their entire life. Don't let that be you, you have plenty of time to learn and grow, or not, depending on your choices.

That said, I'm guessing you can do some basic math.

If all the bs surrounding the pandemic is waved away and all the numbers are true blue legit, then the death rate is roughly 180,000 worldwide. That's since December to now, roughly 5 months. If the number is tripled by time (so 15 months, or 1.25 years), it's about 540,000 all things staying the same.

That approx 180k 5 month number is from these sources: Coronavirus Update (Live): 2,499,665 Cases and 171,338 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer and Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths by country worldwide 2020 | Statista and just the first info that comes up on a google search that google highlights.

Tuberculosis (TB for short) deaths for 2018 was around 1.2 million, or 1.5 million if one counts HIV positive people.

Tuberculosis, like covid-19, is supposed to be an infectious disease. Oh, and btw, the official TB 2019 complete report including death toll is not out yet and the latest data is from 2018:

Tuberculosis (TB)

That page is likely to change with time so an archive of today can be seen here: Tuberculosis (TB)

Should tell you something about how long it takes to get anywhere near accurate results even if one trusts the World Health Organization to be doing that.

Did TB close down whole countries in 2018? Were you hearing about it constantly on the news? Did it ruin scores of small businesses? Did it require a vaccine to save the world? Were people getting fines for not wearing masks and constantly washing their hands like an agrophobe? Did you even hear about it at all on the news?

So perhaps you can tell me why it's so much more serious than TB. Because it can't be on number of deaths.

The coronavirus fatality numbers you have conjured up are after almost all countries around the world have introduced measures to limit the spread. There is no vaccine and no known treatment against it. Tuberculosis on the other hand can be treated and there is also a vaccine against it. About one quarter of the world human population is thought to have tuberculosis infection, but 95% of deaths occur in developing countries. You are comparing apples and oranges.

The polls show that the majority of people are for continuing to take precautions.

Also, there is a super simple test for TB. The test even has a quick turnaround - like 2 days. If the test does give a false positive a chest x-ray is required. People with TB are then quarantined.

Where I used to work, all employees were required to take the test every other year. And I think most HMOs here in America do TB screen regularly and at no cost. TB in America is at an all-time low.
