Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

I saw this yesterday as well. It sounds very unpleasant. I really wish these summer surges would subside. I wear a mask all winter and get lax about it in the summer, but I guess I shouldn't.
I haven't masked in two years. I just can't do it. 😞 I'm lucky I haven't gotten sick. I had one head cold last December and it was the first time since 2019. That's unheard of for me. *knocks on wood* I usually get one cold/virus every fall/winter.

yes, I saw this a week or so ago and I haven't stopped wearing my mask and am so used to it that it really doesn't bother me and no one else bothers me about it either - I would guess that about 1% of our local population still wears them.... that makes me special or part of the 1% right? LOL

It's an interesting, twisty turny thread this one.
Are you US folks still worried about Covid?
We in Sweden had no lockdowns, no mask-mandates, but we were advised to keep our distance. In the end, using the "excess mortality" stats, it turned out to be a great decision. Bars, restaurants, schools...all stayed open. No restrictions on movement.

I had 2 shots in 2020, and none since, and I'm almost 60. I have never worn a mask outside a health clinic (but have no issue if it's required).
I had Covid twice, and now I simply regard it as another winter flu.

Saying that, since I went vegan 3 years ago I have not been ill (touch wood). Possibly a coincidence?
I don't get flu or Covid shots (although I may reconsider in a few years).

We don't have any restrictions for covid now. Most people don't even test anymore if they get sick.

I do take the vaccine every year in the Fall.

I was never paranoid about Covid- but I was over 65 when it first hit, and basically accepted that I was at increased risk. I obeyed all mask mandates, and got the vaccine when it was first offered. It sort of annoyed me that I was required to wear a mask anyway after vaccination. Frankly, I didn't understand my reaction: I'm usually overly-cautious about avoiding health risks compared to most folks. :pout::hmm: :iiam:
