TV & Film Star Wars Episode 7

Nothing can replace the magic of the original three - but I'm sure these will be good on their own. Hopefully they are way better than the Sith crap.
This. It was time for George Lucas to bail. The writing in Episode 1 was so awful that it took me years to watch 2 and 3, which I rented, lol. I couldn't bring myself to pay full movie prices for those episodes.

I felt the same way about the Star Trek movies- that first one had impressive special effects, but the story stunk like a Klingon public washroom. I didn't watch another one in the theater until "Insurrection", which was the 8th in the series if I count right...

I've read a very positive review of episode 7! I'm feeling more hopeful now.

On another forum, some people noted that there are apparently not going to be any white male leads. A definite concern! Like everyone else, I like characters with whom I can identify. That said, the success of the movie doesn't hinge on this one issue, so it's still quite possible it'll be a great movie.

This one has to be my favorite... Darth Vader's funeral pyre as Yule log.... Yes! 5 hours long!

Has anyone out there gone and seen it yet?

No, but I did go to a movie theater to see another movie. Posted on the doors of the theater were signs addressed to "Dear Starwars Guests." The signs said no one with a painted face or mask would be admitted to the theater, nor would anyone be admitted with a "weapon-like object." I assume this means a light sabre, or something like that. People are apparently going crazy over this movie, and a theater employee said the first showing had sold several thousand tickets.

Not me, but my brother-in-law went to see it, and from what I was told he didn't like it very much ... Not that I think he's got any particular movie watching credentials or anything. Jen & myself are planning to go see it together some time during the holidays.

That would be the first negative I've heard so far :D

My husband and his friends thought it was really good but quite predictable in a lot of places. I think it is trying to attract both the old fans and a new audience so I suppose that would be expected.

Do they blow up the Death Star again? That would be boring.....if there is a Death Star, they should take it over rather than blow it up....
