Children Schools ban children making best friends

A few things:

1. I understand kids can be mean and they're trying to avoid that, but really, dealing with that sort of thing is part of life and you learn from that. The people in your lift aren't always going to be there and learning to deal is an important lesson.

2. What about the shy kids? I remember being shy and interacting with one or two close friends was often easier than large groups.

3. Whoever said that group friends are different than best friends has a great point. By banning kids from best friends you;re depriving them of learning how to develop this important type of friendship...

It just seems that by "protecting" their children they're really just stunting them developmentally...

In so many ways. Parents are afraid to let their children play outside, walk to the school bus stop, choose their own friends, walk in the woods.....sad

People need to let children be children. We can't protect them from everything, and in a lot of cases, protecting them causes more harm than good. Developing friendships on different levels, and dealing with the end of friendships, is a very important part of growing up.
