This happened back in mid-September 2025, but nobody posted it. I'm only posting it now because his songs (mostly co-written with Tommy Boyce) were so popular. I'll delete it if it shouldn't be posted so long after the fact.

Ted Turner has passed away at the age of 87… He had lived with Lewy Body Dementia for several years… He was the Founder of CNN and a great Philanthropist…
I may not have agreed with him on many subjects - he raised Buffalo to save the species, and yet sold them as food - however, he was a great Pioneer and Environmentalist… May he rest in peace…

Watching the tributes to Ted Turner on CNN has been eye opening for me… As an expat from the USA I had never seen CNN until staying at my mother-in laws here in Ireland back in 2006… Seeing the news from an International view point was Really interesting and useful! Whilst we were living in France we got most of our news from the BBC off the internet… Now that I am living here in Ireland and now that the BBC doesn’t allow recording any longer, I rely on CNN to keep up to date with what is happening in the world… They may be a bit biased to the left, but I still think that they are pretty fair… Many thanks to Ted Turner for creating 24/7 news…

Mark Fuhrman, former LAPD detective who investigated O.J. Simpson, is dead

Fuhrman shouldered some of the blame for Simpson’s acquittal in 1995. He was later convicted of lying on the witness stand.
