Nutrition & Diet Not all nutritional yeasts contain B12!

I've been buying mine from a local NFS that keeps it refrigerated in little tubs with the Red Star brand label that contains a variety of things including B12. I've gotten so used to hearing about nut. yeast and B12 I'd forgotten that some are NOT grown in a medium that produces B12!

Until I noticed our Whole Foods bulk bin nut. yeast. It was Red Star, but only had B1,2,3 and 6.
Whole Foods? Wow!

So whatever brand you buy, including Red Star, check the label!

I have my levels checked every year and have been doing ok, luckily. I would have never guessed that some nutritional yeasts didn't have B12!

Surprise, surprise the one I bought last week does contain B 12 !
