The latest news is that the IEA has issued a much more pessimistic report than usual. Even they're recognizing the problems. For the sake of humanity, it's best that we find new very large sources of oil within the next 1-2 years.
All Eyes on Kenya: The Next Big Oil Exporter
Kenya could be one of the big oil exporters in the future. 130 billion barrels in Africa. Enough for 1.5 years maybe. It should hold Peak Oil off for a little bit. Oil companies exaggerate frequently, so it's hard to say how much is in there.
