Lemurs are risk-averse! They won't gamble. Lemurs were taught to dispense food by pushing one of two buttons. One button dispensed a single food pellet every time it was pushed. The other would sometimes dispense multiple pellets, sometimes none at all. The lemurs preferentially chose the sure deal over the button with the possibility of greater reward, but risk of getting nothing. There was a report on CNN this morning about risk-averse lemurs.
