US Happy Mothers Day

my real estate office sent this out today and thought it was beautiful and worth sharing...

Today, we celebrate all mothers...those by blood, by bond, by choice and by role. Whether you nurture at home, in your community, or through your work, your strength, compassion and love make an immeasurable impact.

To every woman who lifts others up, leads with care and gives selflessly, thank you.
We honor you today and every day.

Got a free car wash
I was wished a happy mothers day twice when I was alone, by people who didn't know me, happens every year. Does this ever happen to men on fathers day? :hmm:.
While it doesn't offend me, how about the women who've lost a child? People should think

I get that. I got wished Happy Mother's Day several times in stores and whatnot. I just said thank you and went on my way, but sometimes it's does remind me that I never got to have kids. But it's all good. It's a nice sentiment, and I like to think that I've "mothered" a few people along the way just by helping younger folks with life stuff.

Maybe that is more an American thing as I have never been wished a happy mother's day. That is very awkward coming from people who don't know you or your circumstances! I would look completely blank if someone said that to me or it could be very upsetting for some women.

It is, because a friend in California (I called her on the day) said "Happy Mothers day" to me. I also thought that it was strange.
