FROG FARMING IN FRANCE

Every year around 4,000 tons of frog legs are consumed in France. (1) Yet the majority of the consumption comes from Eastern countries or Turkey for fresh, Asia for frozen.

🐸
Protected species since 2007. Commercial extracts in the wild are prohibited. In 2019, the French regiculture (frog farming) had only three giant frog farms, Pelophylax ridibundus from the strain Rivan 92 and two opening projects. (1)
s This strain, derived from work by the INRA, is able to feed on inert elements (fish flour), unlike the wild species that eat their live prey. Making it possible to farm farming.
It takes six to eight months for frogs to reach adult weight of about 60 grams, with a survival rate of 10%. 40% are marketable (thighs). The rest is going to the grind. (

🔪
Official kill recommendations are a section of the brain stem. No sedation method has been approved by authorities, so there is no pre-killing dizzy, only lethargic from the cold. (1)
Mostly served in gastronomic restaurants or pond and swamp regions, the frogs remain forgotten of animal cause. Yet every pair of thighs belonged to an animal killed solely for the taste pleasure of selfish-eaters.

Update:

Little Flamingo passed away due to the toxic fumes of the dye. Once again an innocent animal has lost it's life due
to the actions of a vile thug. This incident happened in NYC and at least the poor creature was cared for in it's final hours at
a local wild bird rescue.

Animals are not objects please don't colour and torture them.

"
The university said it condemned the students' behaviour and had contacted Gloucestershire Constabulary for help with identifying the perpetrators.

The force said it had spoken to the students on the day and given them 'words of advice' but no crime had been committed.

Wild foxes are considered vermin, so while it is against the law to hunt them with dogs it is not illegal to shoot them humanely with a registered firearm. "

Remembering Mike Hill.

Mike was just 18, an animal rights activist and hunt saboteur who was killed on February 9, 1991 during a meet of the Cheshire Beagles, becoming the first hunt saboteur to be killed whilst trying to protect wildlife.
Mike was an vegan anarchist, that worked at both Heavens Gate Sanctuary and Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre sanctuaries and was an active hunt saboteur with Yeovil and Merseyside Saboteurs.
On February 9, 1991, Hill attempted to sabotage the Cheshire Beagles with the Merseyside Hunt Saboteurs. Together with David Blenkinsop y Pirrip Spencer, they jumped inside the back of the pick-up of hunter Alan Summerhill to prevent him from hunting at another site. After Summerhill drove at high speed to get rid of the three saboteurs, Mike tried to jump off the pick-up but accidentally fell and was crashed under it, while Summerhill kept driving for another two miles despite being warned by the two other saboteurs.
Alan Summerhill was NOT prosecuted over Mike's death, which nevertheless triggered a strong reaction in the animal rights community. As Jill Phipps put it:
'I heard what happened to Mike Hill, it was a tragedy, but unfortunately not very surprising, since most of us have had to face a disturbed hunter anxious for blood, and it was only a matter of time before this happened.'
A demonstration was held two days later in front of Summerhill's house. It rallied around 150 people and the house was attacked in front of police and media. Later the house was burned and Summerhill had to escape. Summerhill continued to hunt.
Following Mike Hill's death there was a revival in Animal Liberation Front actions, especially those involving hunt sabotage, in the Northeast of England.
Rest in power Mike

''Wiltshire Police arrested three men on 10 February following publication of footage appearing to show an illegal dig out. In a statement shared by Evelyn, the police said it had arrested a 29-year-old man from Lacock, a 38-year-old man from Bromham, and a 35-year-old man from Devizes. All three face charges of illegal hunting, causing unnecessary harm to an animal, and interfering with a badger sett.''

Fox hunting in the UK- From the Locals Against the Fernie Hunt:

"There are around 200 foxhound packs in the United Kingdom, which are recognised by the Masters of Foxhounds Association.
It is safe to assume that the majority of these hunts continue with ‘traditional fox hunting’.
Tomorrow is Saturday. A prime day on the fox hunting meet card.
Even if only 150 of these packs were out tomorrow, and only half of them made a successful kill, 75 foxes face certain death tomorrow. Chances are, it will be more.
This happens at least twice a week, every week, during the season. Our rough calculation makes that 150 foxes a week. 600 foxes a month.
Our thoughts, as always, are with the foxes and their guardians. Stay safe.''

An innocent vixen was murdered by huntsmen in Devon yesterday. Moreover, this vile crime was committed
in front of sabs. The public should be made aware of what's going on in the English countryside. The police
seem to be oblivious and are not enforcing the legislation.

RIP Proteo.

Proteo flew from Mexico to help rescue Turkish earthquake victims and worked tirelessly for days. Tragically he lost his life today after being trapped under a falling building.

"Cottesmore Huntsman Sam Jones has been arrested this morning after he rode down a member of Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs with his horse last Saturday.
At last Leicestershire police are taking the Criminal Cottesmore seriously. We have said it before and we will say it again...We believe the Cottesmore are the most violent fox hunt in the country and have shown themselves to be just that once again.
The hunting world is under serious pressure with the public eye watching their every move and with that being said we will continue to expose the Cottesmore Hunt alongside our partners Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs until they close their kennels for good!"

Kills during fox hunts are never ending. Another vixen has been murdered by a local group in Yorkshire:
