Why Your Breakfast Should Start with a Vegetable

Just talking about needing to do a green smoothie in the morning--with matcha and ginger and pineapple! Heres a good one- https://nutritionfacts.org/recipe/v-12-vegetable-blast/ I've been having sweet potatoes for breakfast lately, and should add cooked greens

    Trader Joe's

For me it would be Aldi--but--Aldi does seem to vary regionally, in both what is regularly stocked, and the quality of produce. I like that they're limited with all the regular things I need. We have good choices and prices of fresh organics (and medjool dates!), canned and dried beans and...

    Pictures of Your Animal Family

The herp rescue asked for people to grow a row of greens as the prices have risen so much. I'm hoping that should be extra motivation to grow a garden!

    Omega 3 supplements

You do realize what you have now isn't DHA nor EPA? My main reason to supplement is that not everyone (certainly seems myself...) don't make the conversion from the ratio of EFA's to make the usable form of DHA. Esp. true as we age. That's certainly the highest potency I've ever seen!

Anyone tried the new Beyond Beef?

It has avocado oil so not for me. I hope they don't mess with the Italian sausages, those are the only faux meat things I care about buying--oh, and Aldi meatballs for spaghetti

What Did You Cook or Bake today?

I should have a spinner to help decide what seitan to make next  I think I'll do a pepperoni--that's one that people have liked more than meat ones. I use the allrecipes but use the hot chili oil I always request when I get Chinese take out. They give me about 3 Tbls, and I use most...

What Did You Cook or Bake today?

I made butterscotch pudding, based on Joy of Vegan Baking recipe. I increased it a third and added a teaspoon of agar to it to make more of a panna cotta texture. Not sure why it didn't thicken while heating like chocolate does-I even added additional cornstarch slurry. It is thickening up now...

    US US Politics 2024

People used to be able to control those kinds of feeling due to societal pressure. Now they have people validating their feelings, whether it's to get treat animals as 'property' to be disposed of, or seeing those different from themselves as deserving of fewer rights. This whole "saying the...

    Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

I used the rest of the Breakfast sausage chopped up and made into a gravy. I even used the old Bisquick up to make biscuits. It was surprisingly good! I also made chocolate pudding, which is cooling now and forming the skin I like

    Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

I'm more interested in the Scooby Doo pasta--is it from hemp? I had Impossible keilbasa with onions peppers and ground mustard. I wonder if I used coconut oil in my seitan sausage would it be close? It's the texture I really like and I think it's the lack of fat. Next time I'll make them...

Fruit & vegetables: how much washing is enough?

That's encouraging :) I hate washing--the cutting and the soaking and the draining and the rinsing.... I can rinse though! I do...and I brush all root veg...but it's good knowing I'm doing something
