A photo that was taken Vancouver Island's main highway. This isn't an unusual sight and there are multiple lorries
that transport logs all over the island.

''We should be protecting these ancient trees Imagine how majestic it was. Photo taken on Nanaimo parkway south end heading north,
9 am Tuesday, May 25!''

so sad.... and speaking of trees, did anyone else see Earthling Ed's latest video? it is very good, succinct and to the point for any of your friends that say they are environmentalists and yet still eat animals... worth the 11 minutes for sure

Its sad to think about how old this tree probably is, how long it took for it to grow to that massive size, only to end up being cut down for a reason that is probably irrelevant.

VI's giant trees are more profitable chopped down, compared to the smaller ones. However, these giant trees are far more beneficial to the
echo-system.

“If the government has a choice between investing money into protecting old growth or planting trees, they have to consider the immediate benefit of protecting old growth,” Wieting says. “On average, an old-growth forest stores 300 tonnes of carbon per hectare more compared to a 60-year-old, second-growth forest.”
