06.01.2020 – It is with great sadness that the global animal welfare organisation FOUR PAWS announces the death of Founder and President Heli Dungler, who died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday, at the age of 56. Heli Dungler has decisively shaped animal welfare over the past 30 years and expanded FOUR PAWS into a global organisation.

His death is a terrible loss to us and fills us with great pain. Our thoughts and our deepest sympathy are with his family during this difficult time.
With his death, FOUR PAWS and the world have lost a very special animal lover and visionary. Thanks to his tireless work, our organisation is today one of the largest global animal welfare organisations,
represented in 15 countries. Through his passion and tireless efforts, FOUR PAWS has been able to save the lives of many thousands of animals.
Heli died in one of his favourite places,at our big cat sanctuary LIONSROCK, which also stands symbolically for his life's work: revealing animal suffering, rescuing animals in need and protecting them.
