Missing Plane - Still No Answers

well, if they can get the black box, maybe that will reveal what happened.

This has been all over our news. :(

This has been all over our news. :(

It is also on our news channels every 15 minutes. Furthermore I have been reading all the various posts ( a few hundred) on a airline forum and the comments are quite fascinating.

I've been watching this every single day and am trying to catch up with the thousands of posts on airline forums.

The Malaysian government are suggesting that somebody took over the control of the 777.

The specialists are claiming that it is the biggest aviation mystery of modern times;

the passengers and plane maybe held for ransom, or maybe they want the plane for something.

how much is a 777 worth?

I don't think they'd pay a ransom on the plane, as they really wouldn't want to encourage skyjacking.

here's a thought, maybe....if you had a nuclear bomb, and wanted to blow up a city, maybe you could pay pirates to get you a plane, and then there's your delivery system. Not sure if a large plane could get past defences of a developed country.

I heard on ABC news last night that one of the main theories is that it was taken over but that it is lying deep at the bottom of the ocean. :( I don't think they should speculate like that unless they are sure.

For it to completely dispaear though...

My guess is that there was a catastrophic failure of the various plane tracking systems, or it was hijacked by professionals that had assistance by a gov't.

The news in my area keeps reporting that the plane was airborne for several hours after last contact. I'm still hoping that it will end well somehow, but this isn't looking like an accident.

I heard that too and that the radar or communication was intentionally turned off.

the engines send off radio reports about how they're doing, and on the missing plane, the engines continued to broadcast for 5(?) hours after the plane went missing, which suggests that the plane was ok/ flying(?) for all that time.
They said that the plane needed a one and a half mile runway, to land.....maybe there is an unused runway somewhere.
