What's your favorite wine? I've tried many from France, Italy and California and I don't understand why these regions of the world are the most popular when it comes to producing good wines. The best wines that I can remember having have come from the countries of Romania and Georgia. I've been told that Moldova produces excellent wines but I haven't had the opportunity to try any yet.
I'm not a wine snob but I know what I like and I like:
From Romania - anything by Beciul Domnesc, specially their Merlot. My wife wrote an article about Romanian wines and vineyards, maybe I'll post the article or a link to it in the future.
Georgia - Unfortunately it's been so long that I can't remember any of their labels. While visiting Russia I remember having Georgian wine and it was outstanding.
Italy - I love an inexpensive red wine that goes by the label of Masciarelli. It's one of the few Italian wines I can find in my city and it's what I usually have when having a glass (or two) of wine.
