Cut meat to save environment, new study warns

The World Resource Institute (WRI) has called for a massive rethink in the way we consume meat and dairy, in order to halt global warming and secure a sustainable food future.
Large amounts of the global population eat close to double the protein they need and cutting back on meat is entirely possible, the report claimed. To meet the sustainable diet shifts proposed by WRI, the group has introduced a new protein scorecard which ranks the cost impact of various protein-rich foods.
