Vegetarianism goes "mainstream" in SoCal...so says NYT

The only vibe I'm picking up is that that geographical audience would now be more open to leafleting, tabling and other forms of effective advocacy than the general public. I've heard as such from people who live nearby there.

you go, California!

Is plant-based eating the way of the future? A new fountain of youth? That’s anybody’s guess. But in a city where nobody wants to get old, plenty of people are willing to give pumpkinseed chorizo and parsnip bacon a try.
hell yeah.
no, it's an old fountain of youth.
no guesses about it.

Great article, thanks for posting! It's so exciting seeing how many new veg*n products, restaurants, books, etc. are coming out now. In my own city new vegan things keep popping up all the time and it's pretty awesome. The only downside is I now can't fit through my door and I'm in debt. ;)

It depends where you are in Southern California. The more affluent and hip areas are more veg-friendly, while there are plenty of areas in the Southland where vegetarianism (never mind veganism) is an alien concept.
