1 cup of light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups of water
1 vanilla pod
A pinch of salt
Add the sugar and salt to the water. Place in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the
vanilla bean split in two and scraped vanilla seeds. Gently simmer for 10 mins. Cover and
leave to infuse. When the syrup has cooled down, remove the vanilla pod.
Store in a covered airtight glass container in the fridge.
Tip : Ideal for pancakes, yogurt, ice cream, waffles and sponge cakes.
