Absolutely amazing that private ownership of big cats would ever have been allowed is all I have to say.

There are quite a few US states that allow exotic animal ownership, some don't even require so much as a permit or inspection. This isn't limited to big cats either, other animals like elephants and monkeys are allowed too.
