Yeah so today I purchased walnuts which I know are vegan, however the package says these walnuts were packed in a facility that processes milk and egg, does it then make these walnuts non vegan?

No, that is typically a warning that would be important for people who are suffering from food allergies, where even smallest contaminations can be very dangerous.

Okay good, just wanted to make sure i wasn't supporting animal cruelty. thank you for the help :)

I'd like to know why I can get a pound of walnuts for like $5, but the organic ones are more like $16.!
I don't see much about walnuts being important to be organic. o_O

I think for that particular product it might be a marketing scam. Walnuts are protected by there shells, and typically the guide lines for buying organic if the food is protected by its natural skin like a banana you wouldn't have to buy organic but something like celery you'd wanna buy organic because you eat the entire thing

I swear I'm not following you around Veggieviews - although it must seem like it since I seem to have something to say on nearly everything you ask. :p BUT - some allergies are on a microscopic level, and breathing in remnants or touching allergens with your hands and then touching your mouth could cause reactions.

My son and two of my granddaughters have celiac disease - a severe allergy to wheat. My daughter-in-law tries to buy only certified gluten-free products, and avoids those that say processed in a "facility that also processes wheat" just because she just doesn't trust her little ones to wash their hands enough not to be contaminated. It's really hard! She wouldn't buy those walnuts.
