Onion help please

I was playing around tonight with a hand-powered vegetable chopper I haven't used before and chopping onions for a couple different soups I plan to make tomorrow. Anyway I ended up with minced onion instead of chopped. Can I still use them in the soup or will it turn to mush since it's so finely chopped?

I don't know what kind of recipe you are following, however you can still use the onion. As it will be mushy you won't be able to brown it if that was your intention.

I gather you don't use a blender ? Anyway, anything goes when making soups. I just make them up as I go along depending on what ingredients I have available.
