The Lucy's Law campaign, started by Lisa Garner, is calling for the law on dog breeding to be changed to put an end to the cruel practice of puppy farming.
Ms Garner started a petition which has since garned a staggering 143,000 signatures, triggering a Westminster debate.
In response, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) minister George Eustice said: "The Government considers there is merit in exploring this further."
