UK London Cabbie Rapist - To be Released From Jail

It's not clear how many rapes and assaults he was actually convicted for, but to ordinary people it seems very wrong that someone who's been jailed "indefinitely" could be released after 8 years. It also sounds like there were many cases the prosecutor had not taken to court.

Apparently over 100 woman were assaulted and drugged. He should have spent a very long time in prison and
hopefully he won't start his rape act when he is released from jail.

Normally I don't like to jump to conclusions based on newspaper reporting which may not have allthe facts, but this does indeed look like a strange decision.

His wikipedia article says he was only convicted of only one count of rape, which might mean the years served might well be in line with what is normally the case. (However, it also says he was convicted of 12 counts of drugging.) I think perhaps fresh prosecutions could now be bought if he is being released and then send him back to jail. Although it would have made more sense perhaps to carry out such prosecutions and reach a verdict while he was still in jail.
