Justice for animals vs justice for people

i was told by family why am I so worried about animal justice - what about people? I said people mess up the earth and animals are more innocent. Also I believe that the most innocent people are those that eat the least amount of animal products, like those in poorer areas around the world.

In contrast the capitalists are the most guilty and we should be boycotting their most environmentally destructive products including factory farmed products.

The animals are more innocent than people in general. They are sinless. So why not support their justice? Im not saying justice for people isn't important but animals need justice too. all innocent beings do - animals or people.

I wouldn't say animals are necessarily more innocent than humans (I realize you wrote "more innocent than people in general"). Quite a few animal species are predators, and even herbivores sometimes fight savagely with others of their own kind for various reasons: territory, mates, status among others in the colony / herd...) But I have definitely seen that some animals are more innocent than quite a few humans- including at least one cat, whom I and my sister found, and who lived with my family long ago.

I don't think it's one or the other, why can't it be both? And we should be honest - we are doing much better at achieving justice for people than for animals. It seems worthwhile - if animals matter - to strive to deliver comparable justice to other animals when we can do that.

People like to pretend the exploitation of animals isn't a big deal because THEY don't want to feel guilty about the part they play! But it's like, HELLO! WAKE UP PEOPLE, animals have feelings and emotions just like us!!
