There has been a lot said recently about rules not allowing vegan food products to use words such as milk and butter.
We have just bought a vegetable spread marketed by Flora. The wrapping boldly pronounces it to be PLANT BUTTER with the U replaced with a drawing of a plant stem with two leaves.
This overcoming of silly regulations reminds me very much of the pitfalls of target setting and how managers will always meet their targets. The NHS was recently ordered to reduce the number of patients they had in A & E waiting for attention on trollies. The managers met their targets by removing the wheels from the trollies so they were then classed as beds instead of trollies.
