what would be good is if they can just find a green source for petrol, but hydrogen cars might be good.

But as they improve the batteries, don't you think they'd be viable? My nephew has a Chevy Volt and rarely has to use gasoline. He plugs it in at night and at work. If he takes a long trip he needs fuel, but not for the usual stuff.
I like his car, it has a video screen that shows how economically you're driving by how many birds are flying around on the screen. My nephew days he now drives like a granny because he wants to have the most birds.
