Hi everyone. I've been veggie since I was 14. A lot has changed since then but still a long way to go. I remember my mum buying pretty much the same meals for me each week as there was so little choice! It's been nearly 30 years now.
So, you became a vegetarian in the 90s - same as me! Yes, it wasn't the easiest thing back then. At least not where I lived. Most cheeses had animal rennet in them. Restaurants had to be contacted ahead of time to cater to the weird veggie person. I was the only vegetarian I knew in my home town at the time, and even in university it wasn't particularly common.
It feels like we've made some progress since then!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes it was great fun going out for family meals in the 90s and being the only veggie! I often ended up ordering one of the veggie starters as they were no veggie mains. Happy days!
