Let's face it, Easter is a pagan holiday. Even the name, Easter, is derived from the name of a Germanic goddess, Ēostre or Ostara. And then there's the whole business with the Easter bunny and Easter eggs, which again are entirely without basis in Christianity.

So with that, let's keep Ēostre in Easter, folks :)

"Ostara" (1901) by Johannes Gehrts. The goddess Ēostre/*Ostara flies through the heavens surrounded by Roman-inspired putti, beams of light, and animals. Germanic peoples look up at the goddess from the realm below.

Everyone knows we stole all of the pagan holidays and we’re not giving them back. You can keep your Eostre, it’s fine. I’ll keep my Easter bunny and (chocolate) eggs. :p

Picking and choosing, eh? Like a New Age smorgasbord! ;) (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
It’s just celebration of Spring and things coming to life.
And fertility! Those bunnies get busy!
