Dog movies losing influence

A lot of people will get a Collie, a German Shepherd, a Chihuahua or another dog breed based on what they see in the movies, thinking that the dog they get will behave exactly like the dog they saw in the movie. Because of this, a good number of these dogs may be poorly bred by non-breeders trying to make a quick buck, and many of these poorly-behaved dogs owned by people who don't really understand the breed will end up neglected or dumped into shelters.

So if dog ownership of this type is down due to lagging interest in canine cinema, I'm perfectly okay with that.
