Greetings Compassionate Shopper,

We are just coming to the end of Earth Month, a time for reflection and action to minimize harm to our planet and all of its creatures. Going forward, one easy thing you can do to lighten your footprint is to replace items in your home that are tested on animals with products from Leaping Bunny certified companies. Not only are you helping to reduce the number of animals who are needed for tests, you are using products that are kinder to Mother Earth. With over 470 Leaping Bunny certified companies to choose from, making the switch is easy! And even if you aren’t near stores that sell cruelty-free products, there are several online Leaping Bunny storefronts. Details are below!

For the animals,

Here's part 2.

We recently chatted with the CEO of Nourish Organic, Rob Robillard, about his skin care company. Plus, check out the awesome deal they are offering below!

Leaping Bunny: Tell us a little about how Nourish Organic got started.
Rob Robillard: When we founded Nourish Organic more than a decade ago, the words "organic" and "beauty" were never put together. We were concerned by numerous studies shedding light on the hazardous chemicals in existing beauty products, and by the lack of regulations in the personal care industry. We became "organic beauty pioneers," determined to create the very first line of chemical-free, environmentally-friendly skincare products. We were the first beauty company ever to work with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to create a collection of products so pure they could be certified organic under the same strict standards the government uses to certify food. And in 2003, we launched Nourish Organic—the world's first USDA-certified organic and 100% natural skincare collection.
LB: How did you choose the name?
RR: This was actually quite easy. If you look at our ingredient labels, the first ingredient (which means the highest concentration) in nearly all of our products is Organic Aloe Leaf Juice. If you look at most other beauty products, their first ingredient is water, which is less expensive and only temporarily moisturizing. Given the highly nourishing quality of Aloe Vera and our other top ingredients, like shea butter and coconut milk, it was clear that our products were both highly nourishing and organic. And that is how Nourish Organic was named.
LB: Are all of your products vegan?
RR: All of our products, except for our Organic Deodorants are vegan. Our Organic Deodorants do include some organic beeswax.
LB: What is your favorite product?
RR: My favorite collection in the line is the Lavender Mint collection. I just love the combination of calming lavender with refreshing mint. However, our Almond Vanilla collection is one of our top sellers too!
LB: Do you have any new products in the pipeline?
RR: Yes, we are launching a Spiced Citrus body lotion and hand wash in May. This new and unique scent, which will be available on our website, is a combination of sparkling mandarin with exotic spices like cardamom and ginger. It is absolutely delicious!
LB: Why is being Leaping Bunny certified important to you?
RR: Leaping Bunny is one of our most important certifications. We are a mission-based company that is focused on our environment and our planet. We absolutely do not believe in any sort of animal testing and are so proud to be partnered with Leaping Bunny.
