Boston public schools map switch aims to amend 500 years of distortion

I'm not actually surprised by this. School curricula are usually set by the political leanings of school boards and elected officials at the local and state levels, and both Boston and Massachusetts are pretty liberal. This is directly opposite to what's going on in Texas and elsewhere in the South, which are very conservative areas. In those parts of the country, they're pushing back against the trend towards diversity in school curricula and talking about establishing a more white and Christian viewpoint in what kids are taught in their schools, an American exceptionalism attitude that school districts elsewhere have tried to counter in the last few years.
