Missouri companion bills HB 1414 AND SB 928 are dangerous ag gag bills that would create an “information blackout” for factory farms and puppy mills, blocking you from learning about animal cruelty, toxic pollution and human health hazards.

These bills would exclude agricultural industries from the Missouri Sunshine Law, which was created to guarantee citizens the right to obtain all records from public government bodies. If these bills pass, nobody – not even journalists -- will have access to agricultural data collection.

This is a travesty; the agriculture industry must NOT be exempt from the same transparency as everyone else. It’s also terrible news for the animals who suffer every day on factory farms and puppy mills, and a huge blow to the rights of both humans and animals.

These bills are making their way through committee right now. Take action to stop this freedom-crushing legislation.

to sign the petition telling Missouri Governor Jay Nixon that America is watching -- urge him to denounce these bills and promise to veto them if they pass the House and Senate.

Thank you for the heads up. I'm not a Missouri resident, but i gave them my opinion! Unbelievable the lengths they will go to hide the slaughter, hide the shame.
