    Zoo's!

Gosh, sorry. I didn't mean to offend. I just wanted to hear other people's thoughts. I'll shut up from now on. Sorry ...

    Zoo's!

Y'know I'm not sure these inter-species relationships do happen in the wild. What does everyone think? It may be a Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle situation (when we try to measure/record them we change them) ... or a riddle like the tree falling in the forest when there's nobody to hear it...

    Zoo's!

This is a really interesting & justifiably emotive topic. I imagine all of those "cute" animal videos- where a bear loves a tiger, or a chicken takes a kitten as her baby chick - must really incense some people. I mean to say, it's only that humans have either domesticated or partially...

    Zoo's!

No need to apologise for your opinion, Dookie. It's as valid as the rest of ours. :-) Besides, thoughtful dissent makes us all reflect and reconsider ... at least ai hope it does.

    Eating Vegan Fictionally?

when it comes to love, doesn't it depend on the animal or the person? There are some people who are definitely second to a gnat, but others put up a fighting chance with baby pandas and the like ;-) (just kidding ... )

    Zoo's!

Hi, I don't go to zoo so I don't tend to form an indepth opinion. My gut says they are predominantly wrong, although I recognise some good intentions wrt researching ways to help the species. Similarly I don't go to circuses, although many are animal-free from what others have told me. I have...

The problem with healthy vegan food

Hi, I think from memory one of the Tesco select chocolate blocks is vegan, and that it's not the most dark one (as you'd expect). It might be the 70% ... & their Swiss one used to be vegan as well, but it is dark. I haven't tried these in over a year so please double check the ingredients list. :-)

Would you eat meat grown in a lab?

Oh, sorry ... I was forgetting this brand and responding primarily to the title of the post RE:meat grown in a lab, which I interpret as animal cells. Artificial plant-based food to look like burgers that bleed? ... possibly irrelevant to ask me as I don't miss eating blood. For the current...

Would you eat meat grown in a lab?

I think the impossible foods would react with my body the same way actual dairy/eggs/meat react. It's been almost two years. I feel so much better. I doubt anything could tempt me back. It's not that I noticed how meat/eggs/dairy affected me while I was eating them, but rather how good I felt...

    Eating Vegan Fictionally?

As an alternative but slightly related topic, I saw in my FB feed an article on changing the terminology of "cruelty-free" diet/lifestyle to one that takes out the alleged moral element. If I can find the link again I will post it. The author indicated that many of our vegan staples are...

    Another newbie

I have that book too - a gift from a kind, non-vegan friend. I have enjoyed her writing style too, though I tend to use more recipes from Isa's vegan book. Her YouTube videos are really enjoyable; she's quirky but a great cook at the same time. Welcome to the group. :-)

What to eat to relieve stress and stay alert

I cannot imagine what it must've been like to have been brought up on ready meals. If anyone who is reading this, was, my heart goes out to you. I have heard they are a challenge to give up and that cravings can occur years later. I am training myself to lean on ice cream (vegan - no egg, no...

    Marmite??

Are you suggesting Vegemite is fewer good than Marmite? ;-) (Could resist ... sorry)

    Marmite??

Not to put an antipodean bias on this thread, but let's face it ... vegemite is supremely better.

    Marmite??

got it ... rest easily ... all is right with the world now. ;-) Mine is when people forget the "ly" ... eg. "Think Different" as opposed to "Think Differently" unless Apple want everyone to wander around with the word "different" in their heads.

    Hi vegan friends from Italy

Welcome. It's great you've been vegan for so long! Is it easy or difficult to be a vegan in Sicily? I look forward to hearing your views/comments & I hope we can contribute to your quality of lifestyle too.

    Trusting food

Hi, I wanted to check in & see if this was just my little neuroses or whether any others were also starting to mistrust food products. Three things I am now dealing with in more visibly 'obviously plant' ingredients; hummus, coffee and herbal tea. The hummus has been tasting less like chickpeas...

    Dealing with others.

Take heart. You go home at night to your self, not them. You live with your own sense of peace about the good you are doing, not them. The anxiety you are feeling should hopefully disappear the moment you walk into your house - a calm oasis of no cruelty, your sanctuary. Right now there is a...

    New to Vegan

I experience the same thing RE: smell of raw meat and fish. It's odd the way this amplifies when you're a vegan, isn't it? I find myself in planes halfway through a long flight desperately wishing no one sitting near me requests the fish option. Now I just think 'death' when I smell raw meat...
