    Vegans Going Crazy Over Oil

My endocrinologist told me to avoid processed oils because they are just empty fat calories with practically no nutritional value. All they will do is make my hypothyroidism worse. But I don't harp on other people for eating oil and I've actually never heard of anyone freaking out over people...

I need vital source for all minerals and vitamins

Huel is vegan and they have a gluten free option. I take it to work. The claim is it is 100% complete human nutrition and you can live off the stuff. Some people say they have gone over a year on just Huel...I'm not going to try it, though. I like "real" food too much.

    Human-animal communication

I agree that animals would be better off if humans just left them alone. We don't need pets, livestock, fishing or hunting (in most places anyway. I know some people don't have a choice). But as long as there are dogs to be rescued from high kill shelters, I will always have dogs. I am totally...

    Is empathy/compassion a finite resource?

There is a book called "Why We Love the Dogs We Do" by Stanley Coren. There is a chapter called Can You Love Dogs and Still Love People? Basically, the answer is yes. In fact, animal lovers are more likely to help out their fellow humans than non-animal people. On the other hand, people who...

    How did you transition?

I tried to go vegan when I was 14. I actually made it a full year. But I grew up on a farm, surrounded by small towns and farms, and everyone made it extremely difficult, especially my family. I was picked on in school for it, and people enjoyed telling me stories about the animals they tortured...

    Cat toys

My mom has cats and she has this "cat dancer" toy that is literally just a wire with little bits of cardboard on the end. Her cats go APE **** over it. No idea why.

    Vegan pet foods

I would not feed a cat a vegan diet but I'm allergic to cats so I will never have one as a pet. I think most dogs can be vegan because they are not as picky about what they eat. As long as they enjoy their food and are not malnourished then what's the problem? Mine get the Honest Kitchen base...

    2 rants

I hate it when I say and do things in defense of animals, and someone comes along and says WELL WHAT ABOUT (insert group of disadvantaged people.) Ummm so because I care about animals, that means I can't care about people too? I am only capable of helping animals OR people, not both...

    Night shift work

My mom thinks I most likely have Hashimoto's thyroiditis because she had it (it leads to hypothyroidism) and also 3 of my other relatives have hypothyroidism. So, if I do have it, it will not be a huge surprise. But that means I have to give up WHEAT. Aaaaargh! D:

    Night shift work

Well, I probably have hypothyroidism. I need to go back and have another blood test in 6 weeks to be sure I guess? I was half asleep when the doctor called so I don't remember the conversation too well lol. I hate waiting games. :(

An article from the new republic

I used to think that animal rights was too extreme of an idea. Now I think animal welfare is a joke and that animal rights is the only way to go. Animal welfare is pretty much "it's okay to use animals and then slaughter them as long as you are nice about it."

Hello all need help to become vegan

I agree with reading the books How Not To Die by Dr. Michael Greger and Eat To Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. And my favorite cookbook is The Oh She Glows Cookbook: Over 100 Vegan Recipes to Glow from the Inside Out by Angela Liddon.

    Night shift work

I did not mention my vegan diet. He does not think I have heart disease. He thinks I might have acid reflux disease though, or maybe something wrong with my thyroid. I had a blood test done so just waiting to see what that says. I try to spend time for myself but I am so busy it's hard too. All...

    Vegan pet foods

My dogs get Honest Kitchen base mix and Walk About Vegan dry dog food. And I like the Halo vegan dog treats. One of my dogs is sensitive to soy, so I have to be careful or else I will be cleaning up a lake of diarrhea. :(
