    Psoriasis on hands

Hi all I'm looking for products or herbal remedies to treat my psoriasis on the palm of my hands. I have tried Derma-E tea itch relief lotion recently that hasn't been particularly helpful. I don't want to use a steroid cream and have been waiting to see a dermatologist for several months...

    Growing your own veg

Thanks for the replies. I've made a plan of what veg to plant and what flowers to grow to attract beneficial insects. My allotment neighbours seem really friendly so I hope to get some good advice. I like the idea of not pulling up old plants and a great idea about taking photos of insects.

    Growing your own veg

I've just taken over an allotment plot to grow my own veg and a couple of fruit trees, I live in Scotland so there's plenty of rain:) Just wondering if any one else has taken on a project like this. I'm doing plenty of research, however it tends to differ depending on the site. Any advice and...

    My pet hate is …

Being asked what I eat as if I am on a restrictive diet. Being told by omnis that vegans will cause the death of all farm animals. Omnis acting like being vegan is just too much hard work and requires loads of prep time but they insist a Sunday roast doesn't take any real effort. Plugs left...

We shouldn't live with meat eaters.

My boyfriend is a meat eater, he completely supports me. He looks for food options for me when we go out and isn't bothered if I refuse to shop in a store.

    Do you drink tea?

I drink herbal tea mostly - green and mint teas. I would love to grow my own mint but I don't have green fingers.

I'm new to veganism...what do you typically eat in a day

I always have porridge with fresh pair chopped through it for breakfast. Lunch is mostly homemade soup and some bread, I occasionally have pasta or rice left over from the night before. Dinner is whatever I feel like that night really, I like making my own pizza, I stay clear of vegan cheese...

    Vegan household and beauty products?

Hi, try to search for a local store that offers refills. I'm in Glasgow, we have a great store round the corner from me that stocks vegan and cruelty free soaps, shampoos and cleaning products and you can refill your bottles. Helps to reduce plastic waste.

    Some help please x

Hi Paul, I'm from Glasgow. Try making your own plant milk, you can sweeten this to your own taste and use any nuts you want. You can make oat milk too. If you struggle to cut out dairy milk then try to reduce the amount and eventually stop using it. Perhaps give yourself a deadline to help...

    Plant milk recipe help

Hi all I've been making my own plant milk, it never lasts more than 24 hours before it completely separates. I shake it before using, however as soon as I pour it into a cup it separates again. I am using a kilner jar to store the milk and refrigerate immediately. I usually make hazelnut...

Thier reaction to your veganism and how you respond

Family and friends have been pretty supportive of my move to veganism. I'm very assertive so will close them down if they do make negative comments or absurd statements. It's a handful of co-workers I have the biggest challenge with. Their comments are reactive and ignorant. I just tune them...

    Cycling

I commute on foot and have always walked as much as possible. I started getting into cycling about 4 years ago for recreation. I absolutely love it. I'm not particularly fast paced, however take part in an annual 50 mile cycle and currently training for the more challenging 90 miler. I've...

    Vegan newbie

Hi Parinaz I became pescatarian for health reasons, from there I started to research the food industry and was horrified by it all and equally disappointed in myself for not researching sooner. I have been vegan for 8 months and can honestly say I have never looked back. As others have advised...

    Worries about plastic

I'd recommend continuing the use of clothes and bedding until they are no longer fit for purpose. I try not to buy new clothes often, instead I have a look around local charity shops for some gems.

    Huge fight with non-vegan bf?

Hi Mona, It's difficult when you have a partner that doesn't see the world the way you do. It sounds like your bf supports your life choices, as you're in a relationship you have to accept his too, if you can't, you have your answer. Your bf may just need time and support to make his own...

    Gift giving to non vegans?

I've offered to make donations to family members' preferred charity instead of buying physical gifts. The gesture has been well received and appreciated.

    Took the leap

Thanks, Jamie. I've always been a decent cook, becoming pescatarian has developed my culinary skills and experimentation. I have always tried to focussed on less processed foods and sourcing local producers. You're right the way fish die is pretty horrific and something that did weigh heavy on...
