    Finally

I finally did it. About a week ago I just made up my mind that I was going to stop eating my animal friends, and I have been going strong ever since. At meals where there is meat I simply don't take any meat, my family has started to catch on so they are starting to prepare things meat free...

    My second go

Well, so far I seem to be doing better than I thought I could. I have gone from eating fast food sausage biscuits in the morning to eating either cereal with almond milk, or a veggie omelet. I mostly manage to stay meat free through lunch, but I still need to work on de-meating supper. All in...

    My second go

That is highly possible. I've started to sort of mourn if I eat a hamburger, or steak.

    Bad vegan experience

They had upped my meds that week, and it turns out, that was probably the cause of the lethargy, irritability, etc. As soon as my meds are straightened out I may give this another go.

    Bad vegan experience

I'm not too familiar with the concept of "porridge", lol. How would a bowl of cereal with almond milk, accompanied by a protein shake do?

    Bad vegan experience

So the past couple of weeks I had been trying to transition for the second time. I was eating cereal with almond milk and potato burritos for breakfast. This produced some unforseen results. I found myself dropping off at numerous times of the day, my skin looked pale, and my energy levels...

    My second go

I think my palette is starting to change. For the first time ever, today, I tried to eat meat and I couldn't. It didn't taste like it used to, it was almost rubbery. It was so bad I couldn't eat it. Am I starting to switch over, or is it my imagination?

    My second go

Ok, so my first time I tried going vegan I fell off the wagon. I think that was because of lack of planning/knowledge. I have talked with friends, and they are going to help me plan out an animal free diet, I feel like this could work out this time. Ya'll wish me luck.

    Gone off the wagon:(

It's been awhile since I last posted on here, so I'll catch ya'll up. I want to go vegan for moral and environmental reasons. I tried it for awhile several months ago, but being in texas, and living in a family that doesn't get it, I am sad to say that I have failed. I have become a carnivore...

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

Nobody said it would be easy.:) I guess that's what makes it worth it.:)

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

It'll be awhile, but I may try that. It would be a lot easier to leave in dairy products for awhile. Another issue that I have is that I'm a weightlifter, so I "need" extra protein.

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

Before I try to tackle this again, I may need some advice on handling family members. I tried explaining to my dad about why I was going vegan, and the only thing he could say was that the meat industry was way too big for my actions to make a difference.:(

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

A lot of things. Low energy, inconvenience at restaurants and family meals, hard to find vegan friendly foods where I live.....need I go on? I'm thinking I may try again at a time when I'm better prepared and informed.

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

Ugh, I hate to have to admit this, but I have fallen off the wagon. I'm not sure if I just jumped into all this too fast, or if I just needed to do more research, or what. I'm hoping some day I can get back on track.:(

Just had my first vegan thanksgiving

I'll be honest, I was concerned at how I was going to make it through the holidays. But after this, I'm feeling a lot better. I forgoed the ham, turkey, and anything else animal related, and still had a great holiday, even with the few little jabs at my lifestyle from my brother. I never...

    Starting the transition

Well, I just got thru my first day as an "almost" vegan. Last night, a little bit of fish was all the meat I had all day. I'm still wondering how I'll get leather-free shoes though.

    Starting the transition

I think I may be ready to go further into this thing. I eat plenty of almonds a day, so that should cover my calcium, and I've started looking into a lucein supplement. Plus, I've been looking at vegan shoes, clothing, etc. for the whole lifestyle. I did try Morning Star Farms sausage for...

    Starting the transition

Well, so far I think things are going pretty well. Thanks to discovering almond milk, I've managed to cut out animal products from at least 2 meals per day. On top of that, I've stopped drinking sodas, and I've never felt better:)

    Starting the transition

I was wondering about the cheese on top. I wasn't sure if I should go ahead and buy vegan cheese at a health food store or not.
